Capes and The Cotswolds

So last weekend I took a trip down to the Holland Cooper showroom in the glorious village of Kingham in the Cotswolds. Jade opened the doors on the exclusive showroom and headquarters of her luxury clothing brand for customers to shop the new AW16 collection, have bespoke fittings and private appointments with the team and to start the Christmas shopping. I have to admit that I was very excited to finally visit the showroom, I have been meaning to do so for such a long time, but my purse was a little daunted at the thought of another trip to HC after a weekend of treats the week before at Cheltenham races!

My beautiful HC fur hat..a treat from Cheltenham races

I arrived in the picturesque village of Kingham, a personal favourite haunt of mine thanks to the amazing Wild Rabbit pub (which has just won a Michelin star no less) and the beautiful Daylesford Organic Farm Shop – perfect for picking up treats for supper, shopping for beautiful homewares and enjoying lunch – the cakes are particularly scrumptious as is the outdoor wood fired pizza bar! Anyway, back to Kingham…situated in the middle of the traditional Cotswold stone village I found a very festive Holland Cooper sign directing visitors to the showroom.Β  I have to admit that I wasn’t sold on festivities at that point, don’t get me wrong I absolutely adore Christmas, but with my birthday on the 8th December I tend to avoid anything to do with Christmas until at least the 9th! Saying that though, being greeted by an enormous festive wreath on the front door and sounds of Christmas music coupled with the distinct frosty chill in the air (a perfect day for wearing HC!), I was being swayed. Throw in a glass of bubbly on arrival and a delicious macaroon or two and I was pretty much sold.

The showroom itself is stunning and absolutely full to bursting of Jade’s beautiful designs – if any of you have visited the HC stand at a show, you’ll know that there’s too much to choose from but multiply this by at least 10 and you’ll start to get an idea for the magnitude of the showroom. I was completely in my element, as you all know I’m a huge fan of Holland Cooper and have been for years so it was a real treat to see where the magic happens. The service, as always, was fantastic – all of the team are so knowledgeable and helpful, they take a genuine interest in your wants and needs and try to find something to suit the individual. However, I found that the day was a little more relaxed than show days which are hectic due to the shear numbers of people flocking to the stand, which made the service even more personal and enjoyable. To top it off, I was lucky enough to have a private appointment with Jade herself, who I now consider very much a friend after years of handing my money over to her in return for a stunning, often one-off creations! I went to the showroom with one item in mind, the Chelsea coat which I’ve tried on numerous times and never quite got round to purchasing but ended up leaving with A LOT more! I very much took advantage of having Jade’s advice on hand and chose some items that I didn’t even think of trying, which I am totally in love with now.

I couldn’t recommend a trip to the showroom more highly, when buying something that costs a significant amount of money, you want to feel valued as a customer but also you want to have a luxurious shopping experience – there’s nothing worse than being rushed in and out of a shop as soon as you have paid. I have received nothing but fabulous service every time I have ordered or bought something from Holland Cooper, Jade has very often gone out of her way to ensure I have received something in time or that it has been made to my specifications rather than the ‘on-the-peg’ versions, but I felt the showroom visit took my shopping experience with Holland Cooper to the next level.

Obviously the products on offer certainly made my visit super special, there are so many new products on offer that it’s hard not to choose one of everything. I particularly love the new bobble hat range – especially the Angora bobble hats which have detachable pom pom which I chose in a gorgeous, seasonal berry colour. I also LOVE the newly launched ‘Carrie’ caps, named after HC brand ambassador and super stylish huntress Rachel Carrie. I also treated myself to one of these (I know, I’m terrible but it is my Birthday and Christmas soon!) which I can’t wait to wear out shooting as well as shopping! Another thing that really caught my eye were the amazingly seasonal scented candles which definitely helped with the Christmas feeling. There really was something for absolutely everyone and every budget, lots of gorgeous stocking filler ideas for the whole family and of course, a lot of very special gift ideas for your special someone.

I wasn’t the only person enjoying the atmosphere and treating themselves – some of the other lovely HC customers who visited during the day.

Now is the ideal time to book an appointment at the showroom, particularly if you want advice on Christmas presents for a loved one, or you’re terrible at self-restraint and want to treat yourself -like I did. You could make a day out of it and stroll through the village to the Wild Rabbit for a spot of lunch..perfect blackmail material for all those boyfriends and husbands that are probably going to get dragged along for the ride (and the gift hints!).

You can book an appointment with Jade or any other member of the HC team by calling the head office which I’d definitely recommend and will be doing for my next purchase…Happy Shopping! X
